Middle School English Humanities

In our English/Humanities classes we will explore literature and the link between story and history. The Humanities introduce students to humanistic inquiry by considering a range of artistic, intellectual, political, and religious ideals. We will introduce thoughts on how varieties of human thought interact to produce a culture's distinctive way of life. In doing so, we will encounter issues of continuing relevance pertaining to ideals of truth, beauty, virtue, justice, happiness, and freedom, as well as challenges posed by social inequality, war, power, and prejudice. While exploring literature students will find a perfect platform for discovery and understanding the world in which the stories are presented is an excellent “real world” format.

*Projects and essays are our assessment tools.
