The band will learn a repertoire composed of primarily rock music with the members rotating on the songs and performing publicly at least 2 times during each semester, possibly more. The tech part will engage students with hands-on mixing of all rehearsals and live performances culminating with a recording of the band at the end of the semester. All students will learn about the music and recording industry from both perspectives as performers and the technicians who support them as well as an understanding of what types of career opportunities exist in this field. There will be crossover between techs who are also musicians or vocalists so a student may take a semester as a tech and possibly move into a performance role during the following semester and vice-versa.
