Greetings! My name is Marie McGrath, and I am the principal of Idaho Arts Charter School. I grew up in central Washington and came to Idaho to attend Northwest Nazarene College. I graduated from there in 1994 with a BA in Elementary and Special Education and later received my MA from Boise State University in Reading Education in 2003. My certification in Educational Administration from Northwest Nazarene University was completed in 2008. I previously worked for the Vallivue and Meridian School Districts as a special education and elementary teacher. I joined Idaho Arts Charter at its inception in 2005 as a teacher and founder. I have been the assistant principal for the past 8 years and this year have moved into the role as principal. My family includes my husband Lance, librarian at the College of Idaho, and children Danner (16), Garrison (13), and Kestrel (4). In my free time I love to read, crochet, run, and spend time in the wonderful wilderness of the Northwest. I am fully invested in the mission of Idaho Arts Charter and thoroughly enjoy working with the students and families at IACS.
