 Gala on April 22

Join us for our inaugural arts gala, “Party Like the Gatsby” on April 22 at the Sapphire Room in Boise.  This roaring twenties themed gala, featuring local swing diva Ellie Shaw and our very own Camden Hughes and David Gluck, is a major fundraiser for our school to help continue our wonderful arts programs.  Tickets are still available, but they are selling fast--please visit this site to order:

 Les Miserables tickets

Purchase your tickets in advance to watch Les Miserables: School Edition performed entirely by IACS students. This production is considered a PG-13 production, so plan accordingly. Performances are Thursday, April 27thFriday, April 28th, and Saturday April 29th at 6:30 p.m. There is also a matinee performance on Saturday, April 29th at 1:00 p.m.

 Part time piano instructor needed for the 2017-2018 school year

IACS is seeking a part time piano lab instructor for next school year.  Applicants should send their resume to Jackie Collins at jackie.collins@idahoartscharter.org.

 Host Family Needed

Idaho Arts Charter is looking for a host family for a student for the 2017-2018 upcoming school year. Kjara is a Swiss native but lives in Germany. Kjara is a well organized, responsible and self confident girl. She enjoys theater and has acted in several plays. She loves music and has been playing piano for awhile. She also loves to dance. In the winter she enjoys ice skating and in the summer she likes to swim. She would do well in a family with siblings. If you are interested in hosting Kjara contact Ricki Sanchez at 208.757.0055

 Dance Concert DVDs

DVDs will be available for sale at both the Elementary Dance Concert on May 9th and the MS/HS Dance Concert on May 23rd.  DVDs can be purchased for $20.00 at the events with cash or check made out to John Babcock. Please look for the tables at each event where orders will be taken.

 Kindergarten Art Show

May 3rd from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Primary Campus

Each kindergartner will paint a canvas which will be sold at our "Art Gallery." All proceeds will be given to the Ronald McDonald House in Boise to help families who have seriously ill children.

 Global Beats Concert

Come check out The Global Beats Live in concert as they perform a dynamic and eclectic  mix of all original compositions in the styles of Latin Jazz, Afro-Cuban Pop, Funk, Blues, Reggae, Rock and more... The Concert is Monday, May 1st, 7pmat NNU's Little Theater. The address is: 550 Holly St., Nampa, ID 83686 (there is plenty of parking)

 JV Dance Team Auditions

If your child will be in 6-7-8 grade next year and is interested in being part of a fun school group, this announcement is for you! JV dance team auditions for the 2017-18 school year will be held May 1 and May 8th from 2:45-3:45 in the large dance studio. Students must not be failing more than one class and of course, need to love to dance!

 PROM IS COMING May 6th!!!!

This dance is only for juniors or seniors in high school, unless a high school freshman or sophomore is accompanied by a junior or senior student. Tickets will be on sale starting April 17th next to Mr. Bradfield's classroom. Prices are $30 for a couple or $20 for individual tickets. If students are bringing a guest from another school, they must complete a guest form from JoAnn at the West office by May 3rd. Applications taken after that time will not be accepted. The theme this year is the “Roaring 20's”.

 Saturday School for Middle/High school students

IACS offers a “Saturday School” program for grades 7-12 students who need extra help in content areas, need access to technology to complete school work, need help with scholarship or college applications or need time to study for upcoming tests (PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc…).  Teachers often refer students to Saturday School, but any student is welcome to attend if they want to.  Saturday School is held in the north wing of the school (enter by the back gate)--9:00 a.m. till noon in room 33 on the following Saturdays: April 22, 29, May 6, 13

 Congratulations to

·         Congratulations to Guillermo Carreon who placed 2nd in the state history day competition this weekend for his historical essay. Guillermo qualifies to compete in nationals in Washington DC and earned a $250 scholarship to BSU for his entry. Congrats to all of the other history day students who competed as well--we are proud of you!
